Detail Itinerary
1. Haneul Park
09:00~11:00
A former landfill was covered with dirt and a park was built on top. The smell of methane gas is proof that this was truly a landfill. Left untouched, what would have been a mountain of garbage was transformed into a park for citizens to enjoy. The park is especially beautiful in the fall. Summer and winter are not recommended.
30 minute by Taxi
2. pokpo Cafe
11:30~12:30
This cafe, run by the district office, features a stunning artificial waterfall. It’s a unique experience in such a quiet neighborhood. It might seem like a waste of taxpayer money, but residents love it. “Pokpo” is the Korean word for “waterfall.” The coffee isn’t expensive, but you can enjoy the waterfall view without ordering.
30 minute by Taxi
3. Yeonnam-dong Gyeongui Line Forest Trail
13:00~15:00
A park was created along the abandoned train tracks, and many cafes and restaurants surround it. Furthermore, its location in the Hongdae area makes it a popular destination. Koreans call it “Yeon-tral Park,” a play on the name of New York’s Central Park.
30 minute by walk
4.Hongdae Street
15:30~18:00
Half a day in Hongdae is too short. If you want to experience Korea’s unique youth culture, I recommend finding accommodations in Hongdae and spending at least a week there. It’s a truly charming place, teeming with dance busking, diverse cafes (like the Harry Potter Cafe), and unique fashionistas.
30 minute by Walk(or Taxi)
5. Hangang Park in Mangwon District
18:.30~
Mangwon Hangang Park is the most popular of the several Hangang parks. Its proximity to Hongdae makes it a popular destination. Enjoy a date and enjoy chimaek (chicken and beer) like the characters in Korean dramas.
