Brief Itinerary
Detail Itinerary
1. Gyeongbok Palace
09:00~11:00
This palace dates back to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Like the Forbidden City in China, it represents Korea. Admission is free if you wear hanbok (traditional Korean attire). I highly recommend trying it on. Hanbok is available for rent at rental shops near the palace.Rent Hanbok Here.
30 minute by walk
2. Bukchon Hanok Village
11:30~12:30
A neighborhood of “Hanok” (traditional Korean houses) located in northern Seoul. Compared to other recently built neighborhoods, it retains the most traditional form. It recently gained further fame as the setting for the “K-pop Demon Hunters(KDH)”.
15~20 minute by walk
3. Insadong
13:20~15:30
Once a street selling fine art and antiques, it now sells Korean cuisine, traditional teahouses, and souvenirs. From a Korean perspective, it might not seem like much, but it’s worth a visit for its Korean feel. If you’re looking for something fancier and more youthful, I recommend Ikseon-dong, located right next door. (Have lunch here.)
5 minute by walk
4. Jogyesa Temple
15:40~16:30
It’s the headquarters of the Buddhist community. It’s also rich. And, as such, it’s somewhat corrupt. It’s unusual to find a temple like this in the heart of Seoul, so it’s worth a visit if you have the time. It’s adjacent to Insa-dong.
30 minute by Taxi
5. Namsan Tower(Seoul N tower)
17:.00~18:30
The official name is Seoul Tower, but Namsan Tower is more familiar to Koreans. It offers a panoramic view of Seoul at night. The most common way to get there is by taking the paid cable car. I recommend taking a taxi from Jogyesa Temple to the cable car station. While it’s not far, it takes about 30 minutes, considering traffic. It became even more famous as the backdrop for KDH. None of the Koreans I know have been there. I haven’t been either. (I wonder if any French people have climbed the Eiffel Tower while living in Paris?)
15 minute by walk
6. Myeongdong – End of Tour
18:.50~
Today’s schedule went well. Now, let’s head to Myeongdong for dinner and wrap things up.
